Step placement upon appointment is not expected to exceed Step 4 ($73,692 per year). Future increases, including step advancement, are subject to contract negotiations. Position Information The California State University, Office of the Chancellor, is seeking a Junior PeopleSoft System Administrator to assist with the administration, installation, and maintenance of the CSU's Common Management System (CMS), PeopleSoft Human Resources, Campus Solutions, and Finance Applications, as well as third-party interfaces, to ensure business continuity, optimal performance, and system capacity. As a member of the ITS Technical Services team, participating in projects, documentation, and support of Enterprise Systems. These projects require collaboration and coordination of effort and resources with the CMS teams, 22 campuses, vendors, contractors, and hosting partners. In addition, the PeopleSoft System Administrator will provide coverage for after-hours (including weekends) on-call support as required. The Technical Services team provides 24/7 production support through a rotating on-call schedule. Staff are expected to respond to issues outside standard business hours during their assigned period. The position may require a flexible schedule to support planned maintenance, upgrades, and deployments. All additional hours worked will be handled in accordance with applicable policies and collective bargaining requirements. This position is approved for telecommuting (two days telecommuting, three days in office (in-person)) with onsite work at the main headquarters located in Long Beach, California. Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Director, Technical Services & Operations , the Junior PeopleSoft System Administrator will: Assist with technical support for the 22 CSU campuses by analyzing and troubleshooting basic campus system administration issues reported through Optimize cases. Perform system configuration, maintenance, and administration activities for the CSU's CMS PeopleSoft applications under supervision. Installation, monitoring, and integration support for third-party applications with PeopleSoft ERP. Support activities for Move-to-Productions for major applications and tools upgrades. These include installing PeopleSoft components (PIAs and Application domains) before or during upgrades. Develop and maintain technical documentation required to support the CSU Oracle/PeopleSoft system. Collaborate with all Information Systems teams as needed to understand and resolve campus system administration issues. Maintain awareness of all Oracle and PeopleSoft software updates and assist with implementation activities in coordination with Technical Services and Development teams. Assist with system monitoring, load balancing, and capacity tracking of the Infrastructure. Script and automate routine maintenance tasks as appropriate. Assist with special projects, as assigned. Provides coverage for after-hours on-call support as required.
