Job Description
The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Holland is searching for a Junior Room Coordinator for its South Side Facility.In this position, you will be responsible for incorporating our proven youth development principles in programs and activities that engage the youth of Greater Holland.Job Summary Looking for a dependable, energetic, and positive-minded individual to join our program team working with our junior members (5th-7th grade).Must have previous experience working with youth and be passionate about helping them reach their potential.Willingness to have fun and be a team player a must! Responsibilities Establish daily age-appropriate programs and activities that support the Club's mission, vision, and values Promote and encourage member participation in programs and activities throughout the Club Be ready to be actively engaged with Club members for the duration of your shift Develop and take ownership of relevant program partnerships with schools and community organizations Provide guidance and discipline to create a culture of safety and mutual respect including discussing behaviors or concerns with parents or guardians Prepare program areas before members' arrival and make sure everything is clean and tidy at the end of each day's programming Be aware of all safety and emergency procedures of the Club Attend all staff meetings, trainings, and special programs or Club events Coordinate and assist with Parent Orientations Consistent coaching and check-ins with assistants Instill a safe and positive environment in your program area by setting up rules and expectations while leading your assistants to support the same vision Be prepared to carry out conflict resolution skills with co-workers, members, and families Effectively manage program area budget and other administrative duties needed Requirements Group leadership skills are required including the understanding of group dynamics and the ability to work with many different personality types A high level of enthusiasm and commitment to serving youth High School Diploma or GED required.Education or Social Work degree preferred, but not required Minimum of two years' experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth organization If you are passionate about working with youth and have the skills and experience, we are looking for, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.Job Type:Part-time Pay:From $18.45 per hour Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Parental leave Professional development assistance Retirement plan Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Application Question(s):This position requires the candidate to be 21 years of age or older.Do you meet this requirement?
