Job Description
Job Title: Junior Software Tester Location: United States Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Tester to join our Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will assist in testing software applications, identifying bugs, and ensuring product quality before release. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to build experience in software testing and quality assurance. Key Responsibilities Perform manual testing for web, mobile, and desktop applications. Execute test cases and document testing results accurately. Identify, report, and track software defects and issues. Collaborate with developers and product teams to resolve bugs and improve software quality. Assist in creating and maintaining test plans, test cases, and QA documentation. Conduct functional, regression, integration, and usability testing. Verify applications meet business and technical requirements. Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and QA activities. Support automation testing initiatives when applicable. Ensure timely completion of testing activities before software releases. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. 0–2 years of experience in software testing, QA, or related technical roles. Basic understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) and STLC (Software Testing Life Cycle). Familiarity with bug tracking tools such as Jira, Bugzilla, or Azure DevOps. Basic knowledge of SQL, APIs, or automation testing is a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Attention to detail and willingness to learn new technologies. Preferred Qualifications Exposure to automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, or Postman is a plus. Knowledge of Agile development methodologies preferred. Internship or academic project experience in QA/testing is an advantage.
