Job Description
Overview Divan Berkeley is looking for a motivated and organized Junior Sous Chef to join our team. This role will focus on daily kitchen preparation, prep list organization, inventory support, and assisting with ordering and kitchen operations. We are looking for someone who is reliable, detail-oriented, and able to help maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate has kitchen experience, works well under pressure, and can help lead prep and service alongside the chef team. Mediterranean or Turkish cuisine experience is a plus, but not required. Duties Creating and managing daily prep lists Assisting with inventory and ordering Supporting kitchen organization and cleanliness Helping prep and line cooks during service Maintaining food quality and consistency Requirements Minimum 5 years of kitchen experience required Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Understanding of kitchen prep and food safety standards Ability to create and manage prep lists efficiently Preferred: Previous J. sous chef or kitchen lead experience Mediterranean or Turkish cuisine experience Food Handler Certification Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year Benefits 401(k) Food provided Paid time off Work Location: In person
