Appalachian Youth Service has been a leader in providing high-quality care to dependent and delinquent youth since 1977.Our staff-secure facilities offer highly structured residential and educational programs designed to ensure safety, stability, and positive development.We take pride in our strong reputation with the Department of Human Services (DHS) and with partners across Pennsylvania.We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our residential and educational teams.Ideal candidates may have backgrounds in psychology, criminology, human services, or related fields.While a college degree or prior experience is preferred, it is not required--we are committed to training the right person.We value our employees and prioritize work-life balance, offering no mandatory overtime and a supportive environment where you can build a meaningful career.We are hiring full-time employees who can maintain structure, follow directions, make sound decisions, and take pride in their work.Applicants with a history of absenteeism or personal obligations that routinely interfere with work should not apply.Cell phones are prohibited during shifts to ensure proper supervision of youth.Employees must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.However, we offer a flexible scheduling system that allows reasonable requests for time off.Candidates should not have more than two shifts per week they are unable to work.Responsibilities Provide direct support and assistance with activities of daily living for youth in residential and educational settings.Implement behavior-management strategies and support individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, and mental health needs.Communicate effectively with youth, families, and team members to foster a positive, supportive environment.Assist with data collection and documentation of individual progress and needs.Ensure safety and well-being by administering medication and following established protocols.Transport youth to community outings and appointments as required.Appalachian Youth Service adheres to all provisions of the federal Drug-Free Workplace Act.Applicants must be able to pass a drug test to be considered for employment.Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age and dependable High School Diploma required; college degree preferred Ability to work all three shifts, including weekends and overnights Successful completion of Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI clearances Ability to complete an online Medication Administration course Valid PA driver's license with a clean driving record Ability to complete Safe Crisis Management training Ability to complete First Aid and CPR certifications Provide appropriate structure and safety for youth in our care Maintain facility rules and regulations Serve as a positive role model for youth Benefits Three raises per year Incentives for achieving agency goals Excellent, affordable health insurance Dental and vision coverage Credit union access Annual paid time off 403(b) retirement plan with company match after one year Roth IRA option Life insurance Short- and long-term disability insurance Job Type:Full-time Pay:From $18.87 per hour Benefits:403(b) 403(b) matching Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Life insurance Loan forgiveness Paid time off Paid training Retirement plan Vision insurance Application Question(s):Are you able to pass a drug screening?
