Juvenile Rehabilitation Officer 2 (JRO2) - On-CallLocation:Ellensburg, WAFacility:Parke Creek Facility SalaryJRO2:$32.56 per hourJRO1:$31.02 per hour The listed rate does not include the additional 5% premium for working in an on-site 24/7 facility.Closing Date:March 18, 2026 The Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is hiring Juvenile Rehabilitation Officers to support safety, structure, and rehabilitative programming at Parke Creek Facility, a minimum-security residential program.Our vision is that Washington's children and youth grow up safe and healthy, thriving physically, emotionally, and academically, nurtured by family and community.This role offers an opportunity to work directly with youth in a structured environment that promotes accountability, growth, and positive development.Job Type On-call positions are intermittent and do not have a fixed schedule or guaranteed hours.However, opportunities may arise to work an average of 20 to 40 hours per week depending on operational needs.Employees must be available for all shifts:Day shift:6:00 AM to 4:00 PMSwing shift:1:00 PM to 11:00 PMGraveyard shift:10:00 PM to 8:00 AM Weekend and holiday availability is required.What You'll Do Supervise youth and help maintain a safe residential environment Respond to conflicts and de-escalate situations using approved techniques Document incidents, security concerns, and daily activities Conduct security checks, room inspections, and wellness checks Support youth routines including meals, chores, and programming Model positive behavior and reinforce pro-social skills Transport or monitor youth when required Required Qualifications One year of relevant experience in counseling, criminal justice, juvenile justice, education, behavioral health, psychology, sociology, or social services OR Two years of college coursework Note:Two years of college may substitute for the one year of experience.Applicants must also demonstrate:The ability to take action to learn and grow The ability to take action to meet the needs of others Preferred Qualifications Experience working with youth in social services, corrections, law enforcement, or security settings Knowledge of adolescent development and juvenile rehabilitation practices Experience with behavioral or cognitive intervention techniques Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in crisis situations Experience working with diverse populations How to Apply Complete your applicant profile and attach the following:Letter of interest describing how you meet the qualifications for this position Current resume detailing experience and education Job Type:Full-time Pay:$31.02 - $32.56 per hour Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Employee assistance program Flexible schedule Flexible spending account Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Opportunities for advancement Paid time off Retirement plan Vision insurance Experience:social service:1 year (Preferred) Security:1 year (Preferred) youth engagement:1 year (Preferred) Work Location:In person.
