Job Title: Kavatender Location: Riptidez Kava, 4801 Linton Blvd Ste 3-B, Delray Beach, FL 33445 Position Type: Overnight Shift 12am-8am ***Weekends Required About Us: At Riptdidez Kava, we take pride in serving a variety of drinks and unique experiences to our guests. As a Kavatender, you will be part of a dynamic and engaging team that blends traditional bartending with the art of kava preparation. We offer a welcoming, relaxed environment where customers can enjoy kava, cocktails, and other beverages while socializing in a laid-back atmosphere. Job Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic, personable, and non-skilled or skilled Kavatender to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, an interest in kava, and a friendly demeanor. This position involves preparing and serving kava and other drinks, ensuring a high-quality guest experience, and contributing to a positive and welcoming environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and serve kava drinks in various forms, including traditional servings and specialty blends. Mix and serve non-alcoholic beverages according to bar recipes and guest preferences. Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, offering recommendations, and creating a friendly atmosphere. Maintain knowledge of kava’s cultural significance, benefits, and preparation methods to educate customers when needed. Operate and maintain bar equipment, ensuring cleanliness and proper functioning. Monitor and check identification to ensure compliance with legal drinking age requirements. Handle cash, process payments, and provide accurate change to customers. Assist in maintaining the bar’s cleanliness and organization, including stocking supplies, cleaning countertops, glasses, and utensils, floor, restrooms and more. Manage opening and closing duties, including restocking, inventory checks, and ensuring the bar area is properly sanitized. Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices. Assist in the development of new drink offerings and participate in special events or promotions. Qualifications: Previous bartending or kava preparation experience is preferred, but not required. Training will be provided. Knowledge of kava and its traditional use is a plus. Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new techniques and drink recipes. Excellent communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of service. Must be at least 18 years old and able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle difficult situations with professionalism and patience. Ability to lift and carry heavy kava buckets and bar supplies.
