Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic team as a Kennel Manager, where you will lead the daily operations of our animal care facility with enthusiasm and dedication. In this vital role, you will oversee the well-being of our furry residents, ensuring they receive top-notch care, training, and attention. Your leadership will foster a safe, clean, and nurturing environment for pets and staff alike. Duties Supervise daily kennel operations, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining animal living areas to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met. Oversee pet handling and dog training activities, ensuring proper techniques are used to promote good behavior and comfort. Coordinate pet grooming, pet sitting, and veterinary care appointments to provide comprehensive care for all animals in residence. Train and supervise kennel staff and pet caregivers to uphold high standards of animal handling, restraint, and customer service. Manage inventory of pet supplies, medications, and grooming products while maintaining accurate records. Respond promptly to client inquiries and provide exceptional customer service to pet owners seeking information or assistance. Ensure compliance with health regulations, safety protocols, and veterinary guidelines to promote a secure environment for animals and staff. Requirements Proven experience in kennel management or animal care roles such as veterinary technician assistant or veterinary assistant. Strong knowledge of dog training techniques, animal handling, restraint methods, and pet grooming practices. Prior veterinary experience or veterinary clinic background is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for cleaning supplies or animal transport. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service and team leadership. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Passion for animal welfare coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving and staff training.
