CHILLICOTHE CITY SCHOOLS Job Description Title: Kindergarten Readiness Boot Camp – Licensed Behavior Therapist / Program Administrator Reports to: Building Principal / Elementary Curriculum Director Employment Status: Temporary, Hourly – Summer 2026 (June 22 – July 23, 2026) Rate of Pay: Per negotiated agreement / hourly rate TBD Hours: 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday + administrative duties as assigned Positions Available: 1 Qualifications Valid Ohio license in social work with a Master's Degree Experience providing behavioral support and intervention services to early childhood or primary-age students (Pre-K through Grade 2 strongly preferred) Working knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), and trauma-informed care practices Experience in a program coordination, administrative, or compliance-related role within an educational setting is preferred Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized behavioral support plans and proactive classroom strategies Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, intervention specialists, and school administrators Strong organizational skills; ability to collect, maintain, and submit program data and compliance reports accurately and on time Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate behavioral strategies clearly to staff and sensitively to families Comfortable working across multiple classrooms and responding to behavioral needs in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Knowledge of Ohio state requirements for program compliance and grant reporting preferred General Description The Behavior Specialist serves a dual role within the Kindergarten Readiness Boot Camp, a summer program funded through the grant. In the behavioral support capacity, this individual provides specialized behavioral intervention and proactive support services for all students across the four program classrooms throughout daily program hours. In an administrative capacity, this individual serves as the contact for families to arrange support for students participating in the program and will be available to support classroom teachers during summer school hours. This position is present and active throughout all program hours (8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, June 22 through July 23, 2026) and may carry additional administrative responsibilities outside of program hours as needed to meet grant compliance requirements. Specific Performance Duties – Behavioral Support Provide individualized behavioral assessment, support, and intervention for any student requiring assistance at any point during the program day across all four classrooms Collaborate with lead Kindergarten teachers and Intervention Specialists to develop and implement proactive behavioral strategies, positive reinforcement systems, and classroom-wide behavior expectations Respond to behavioral incidents in a calm, consistent, and trauma-informed manner; de-escalate situations and provide real-time coaching to classroom staff as needed Develop individualized behavior support plans for students with identified behavioral needs and support plan implementation throughout the program Conduct regular observation across all classrooms to identify students who may benefit from additional behavioral support both during the camp and during Kindergarten and intervene proactively before needs escalate Communicate sensitively and professionally with families regarding behavioral support strategies being used with their child; guide extending supports at home when appropriate Participate in pre-program preparation sessions to align behavioral expectations, establish classroom procedures, and brief instructional staff on available behavioral supports Participate in weekly planning time alongside instructional staff to review behavioral data, adjust support strategies, and ensure alignment across classrooms Make recommendations to building administration and classroom teachers for supporting individual students when they return to school in the fall.
