Sweet Charli Girl is one of the top gluten free bakeries in Austin. Our kitchen is looking for a new baking assistant. Someone who is willing to work flexible hours, as well as long days during the holiday season (November-December). We are looking for someone who is fun and energetic, that can keep a light and positive mood in the kitchen when problems arise. Responsibilities Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes and instructions Follow recipes accurately, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and appearance of baked goods. Assist with food handling and storage procedures Follow food safety standards and guidelines Collaborate with cooks and chefs to ensure efficient workflow - Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, including mixers, to ensure they are in good working condition. Track and manage inventory of baking supplies and ingredients, including restocking as needed. - Assist in packaging finished products for display or delivery, ensuring they meet presentation standards. - Monitor the quality of ingredients and finished products, making adjustments as necessary to meet quality standards. - Interact with customers, if required, to hand off orders and answer any questions - Maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent contamination (including washing dishes and mopping floors at the end of the day) Qualifications Previous experience in a kitchen environment and/or baking experience is a plus Knowledge of basic culinary techniques and food safety practices (Food handlers license required, but if you don't have one you can get one before your first day) Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and a team player mentality Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff Positive attitude Join our team as a Kitchen Assistant to gain valuable experience in the food industry while contributing to the success of our kitchen operations.
