Job Description The Kitchen Worker / Prep Cook plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a restaurant kitchen by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the cooking process.This position demands a strong commitment to food safety and efficient kitchen practices to help deliver quality meals to customers promptly.Responsibilities Assist with food preparation by chopping, peeling, slicing, and measuring ingredients according to recipes and menu specifications Support the cooking process by following instructions from chefs or kitchen supervisors to ensure timely meal production Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling procedures and maintaining hygiene standards at all times Prepare ingredients for menu items, including portioning and packaging for service or catering events Support meal assembly and plating to ensure presentation meets quality standards Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock shortages or equipment needs Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is highly desirable Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and food safety protocols is preferred Experience working in restaurants or catering settings will be considered an asset Knowledge of kitchen operations, including knife skills and meal preparation methods, is beneficial Demonstrated ability to handle food safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment is essential Basic understanding of food industry standards related to hygiene, sanitation, and food handling regulations Prior experience with serving or supporting dietary services will enhance your ability to succeed in this role Pay:$16.00 - $21.00 per hour Benefits:Dental insurance Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid training Vision insurance Shift availability:Night Shift (Required) Day Shift (Preferred) Ability to Commute:Okauchee, WI 53069 (Required) Work Location:In person.
