Gosh Asian Bistro and Sushi is looking for professional experienced Line Cook. The candidate will prepare food to the chefs exact specifications and set up stations to support our kitchen menu. Line Cook duties will consist of various daily tasks to prepare all menu items. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and meetting the restaurant goals. Responsibilities Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the other kitchen staff Answer, report and follow manager instructions Clean up station and stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, with high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Requirements Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, restaurant Cook or Prep Cook Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Ability to read and understand food prep tickets or KDS/ kitchen display system Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry’s best practices Experience preparing asian cuisine is a plus Culinary school diploma a plus Physical Requirements: This position is expected to be able to perform the job functions with reasonable accommodations. Remain standing for extended periods of time. Bending, squatting and lifting up to 20 lbs. for short distances. Ability to work with varying noise levels. Communications with managers, team members and guests. Prepping and portioning meal ingredients, includes washing, peeling, cutting, and slicing meats and vegetables. . Operate deep fry station . Operate dish washing machine to clean pots and pans, dishes, utensils, and other cooking instruments. . Other task as needed to support kitchen functions . Sweeping and mopping the kitchen areas at closing time . Maintain hygiene in all cooking areas and clean area at the end of shift .
