Company Overview Simple Eatery is a well-establish long-time local favorite eatery. Founded on eating clean, balanced, and traditionally made meals. We are an artisan bakery, make all our food from scratch, hand cut proteins & create clean sourced dishes. We are hiring a Kitchen Manager / Head Chef position. We are among the busiest restaurant in town with staff of 25 to 50 employees (depending on the time of year). Job Overview This is a full-time hourly position with performance bonuses. Answers to GM & Owner. The ideal candidate will be creative in food sourcing, preparation & dining trends. Be proficient in all aspects of food preparation, presentation, quality, food costs & food handling. Be a strong leader, role model, trainer & positive force in the kitchen. Be an important part of controlling labor cost & staffing. Hourly Wage: $24-$26/hr, plus tips ($3.50 - $8 / hr more). $27-$34/hr (annual base $56,000 to $70,000) Performance goals up to an additional $2/hr (annual $4100) Summer Volume bonus: Additional $1/hr up to $2.50/hr Overtime available Paid vacation, accrues at 1 week/year Paid sick leave accrues from day 1, per state regulations 100% employer Paid enrollment into private doctor program, health care for day to day wellness & illness, after 1 Month of employment 100% Paid enrollment into company: accident, injury & disability paycheck protection, after 1 year employment 401k with 100% employer matching after 1 year employment Job Type: Full-time, 5+ shifts / week Responsibilities Create daily seasonal & specialty items, along with potential new menu items along with the GM & Owner Execute restaurant’s menu as established, to high standards Train, develop & manage kitchen staff Ensure all shifts are properly staffed for service Compliance with safety, nutrition & sanitation regulations Ensure proper food ordering & storage Control labor & food costs to achieve established targets Create a culture of a positive & professional work environment with coworkers Create /implement / ensure regular cleaning, deep cleaning & maintenance lists /schedules for kitchen & equipment Perform general maintenance of equipment in kitchen, as needed Qualifications Work varied schedules, expected 5 shifts plus flex time (based on 45 hours) per week (weekends, busy times & some holidays are required) Shift fill in as needed to ensure all shifts are properly staffed for service Excellent record of kitchen management Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently Capable of delegating multiple tasks Strong communication & team-building skills Keep up with cooking trends and best practices Strong experience in soups & proteins Serve-safe manager certification (or willing to get) Culinary training Requires current location or relocation to Buena Vista, CO.
