Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Fire Extinguisher / Kitchen Tech to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in fire protection kitchen systems and understanding basic engineering principles for kitchen fire suppression systems, with a focus on ensuring safety and compliance in environments. This role involves inspecting, servicing and maintaining kitchen fire safety systems. minor repairs such as re-pipes and hydro tank swaps when needed. Must have a clean driving record and able to travel with 1-3 night(s) for overnight travel per month. Must have ICC exam or can test for ICC. Responsibilities Test and inspect kitchen fire systems in accorandance with manufactures instructions. Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to facilitate system design and installation as needed. Conduct portable inspections per NFPA 10. Provide field service support, troubleshooting issues related to hood systems and other fire protection equipment. Work with hand tools and power tools to install, repair, or maintain fire protection systems. Engage in fire alarm systems to ensure they are properly tied into the kitchen hood supression system. Skills Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding of construction documents. Strong mechanical knowledge related to fire protection systems and equipment. Familiarity with low voltage electrical systems, kitchen systems and NFPA codes. Background in construction inspection practices related to fire safety compliance. Knowledge of pipe fitting techniques and standards. Field service experience with fire supression hood systems is required. Ability to work effectively with hand tools and power tools in various environments. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with clients, contractors, and team members. Must be able to use Service Trade software to inspect kitchen systems and portable fire extinguishers.
