This position requires a commitment to food safety and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and specifications. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including cooking stations and equipment. Ensure all food handling procedures comply with safety regulations and standards. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service. Assist in catering events as needed, contributing to menu planning and execution. Utilize proper knife skills for food preparation, ensuring precision and efficiency. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, communicating needs to management. Participate in training new kitchen staff on food handling techniques and kitchen protocols. Qualifications Previous experience in a culinary role or as a cook in the food industry is preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Strong skills in meal preparation, including proficiency with knives and cooking techniques. Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent teamwork and communication skills are necessary for collaboration within the kitchen. A passion for culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills is highly valued. Experience in catering or as a dietary aide is a plus but not required.
