Job Description
JOB Kitchen Supervisor University School for Young ChildrenCollege of Education, Health and Human StudiesPrimary Responsibilities: Foster positive and professional interactions with staff, student workers, children and familiesPrepare and serve meals and snacks for children in the Center in accordance with established schedulesEnsure all food preparation meets applicable food safety, sanitation, and health regulationsAccommodate and monitor dietary needs and restrictions of childrenPrepare meals in appropriate quantities in compliance with the Child Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) requirementsMaintain full compliance with all Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and regulationsPrepare and organize food carts based on meal requirements and classroom enrollmentTransport meals to assigned classroom according to established scheduleClean and sanitize dishes, equipment and kitchen areas in accordance with state regulationsDispose of trash and maintain cleanliness of kitchen and service areas, including emptying large trash containers into dumpstersComplete all required training required for the position EXAMPLE OF DUTIES High school diploma or GED Experience in food service, childcare or related settingKnowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practicesAbility to follow guidelines set by the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Ability to prepare and serve meals in a timely and efficient manner Strong communication skills with ability to follow written and verbal instructions Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to lift and carry 25–50 pounds (food supplies, carts and equipment) Demonstrated reliability and consistent attendance Ability to interact in a positive and professional manner with children, families, and staff Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to customer service SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION About Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO): Founded in 1873 and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, Southeast Missouri State University provides student-centered education and experiential learning with a foundation of liberal arts and sciences, embracing a tradition of access, exceptional teaching and commitment to student success that significantly contributes to the development of the region and beyond.
