Position Title: L1/L2 Network Support Engineer Location: UAE No. of openings: 40+ Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer to assist and support network infrastructure projects, in Capacity of surveys, cabling, network installation (hands & Feet support), and post-installation onsite support, & Wireless Surveys (there will be a dedicated remote Level-3 wireless expert engineer available, and FE is required to provide assistance and particularly wireless survey hands-on experience is not required but it is good to have) for new network devices. The job will involve working with SD-WAN, routers, switches, servers and access points for branches, and parts for network cabinets. The candidate will be responsible for onsite assessments, deployments, and hands-on support for installations. Expecting the FE to visit multiple times on the same location/locations to execute the repeated/same tasks based on below milestones. Key Responsibilities Conduct pre-implementation site surveys to validate the existing setup against customer[1]provided network diagrams and report discrepancies. Perform site surveys related to: Physical inventory check of network equipment. Site layout, safety, and security assessment. Rack, cabling, and power availability verification. Mapping of existing access points and IDF/MDF locations on floor plans. Review and analysis of wiring and cabling schematics to ensure proper rack and stack planning. Execute rack, stack, and mounting of network equipment, including routers, switches, access points, and IP phones. Perform equipment handling activities (packing/unpacking, loading/unloading, and shifting). Conduct power cycling and POST (Power-On Self-Test) & DOA (Dead on Arrival) validation. Map port patch panels to switch ports during cutover. Label network devices, import links, and uplinks. Install routers, switches, and wireless APs at designated sites. Mount and patch APs using existing cabling, ensuring proper labeling. Provide photos of pre and post-installation work. Support / Provide the usage of manlift/boom lift/scaffolding as needed. Ensure multiple visits to sites if required to complete installations. Connect new wireless APs to access switches using existing cables. Install new cables as per project requirements. Physically inspect infrastructure components such as cables, ports, patch panels, PDUs, racks, and network modules. Document uplink port availability, patch panel ports, IDF/MDF inter-floor ports, rack space, and power sockets. Provide hands-and-eyes support for remote configuration, firmware upgrades, and troubleshooting. Conduct a Wi-Fi design survey to capture existing site conditions and identify potential mounting limitations. Assist the remote wireless experts based on the instructions provided. Generate wireless signal reports (using Ekahau sidekick) to determine AP placement, coverage, and cabling needs. Recommend mounting positions and cable lengths for APs mapped to floor plans. Conduct post-deployment passive validation and troubleshooting surveys. Perform RF site survey based on voice, video, and roaming optimization parameters. Pre-Requisites Arrive before scheduled activity windows and ensure flexibility for non-business hour work. Conduct multiple site visits as required to ensure project completion. Must be carrying Basic networking tools including screwdriver set, console cable, Cable tester, Labeling Machine, plier, punching tool, Laptop with updated windows and MS Teams & putty installed on it. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in IT, Telecommunications, or related field (preferred). 3+ years of experience in network deployment, site surveys, and field support. Candidate should have CCNA (Routing and Switching ), ITIL, & CCNP training good to have, CCNA/CCNP Certification is a plus Hands-on experience with Installation of SD-WAN routers, network switches, wireless APs, and data center networking. Proficiency in rack-mounting, cabling, power cycling, and port mapping. Knowledge of Wi-Fi design, RF site surveys, and troubleshooting methodologies (Good to have). Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide support during non-business hours. Strong understanding of network diagrams, wiring schematics, and cabling standards. Experience using manlift/boom lift/scaffolding for high-mount AP installations (preferred). Must be physically fit for handling
