The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time). Pay Range $31.07 - $40.60 Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Position Overview IND123 SUMMARY (BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB) Assists the Point of Care Coordinator with implementation and operation for the point of care program (POC) for both campuses. Reviews the POC program operations for accurate and reliable test results and monitors testing staff to ensure adherence to established policies, practices and procedures. Follows policies and procedures and supports overall education program for POC testing staff, to ensure conformance with established POC standards and regulations. Minimum Requirements Education:Bachelor's degree in science related field. MT ASCP preferred. Experience:Three years of experience as a Medical Technologist, experience with POC preferred. Other Credentials Knowledge and Skills:Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format. Excellent communication skills. Special Training:Intermediate computer skills. Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities:Ability to independently assess situations considers various alternatives and chooses appropriate course of action. Demonstrates professional competency and analytical ability. Able to multitask and capable of adhering to deadlines and expectations. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Usual Work Day:8 Hours REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS Does this position formally supervise employees? No If set to YES, then this position has the authority (delegated) to hire, terminate, discipline, promote or effectively recommend such to manager. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS In conjunction with the Point of Care Coordinator, oversees quality assurance of POC testing performed by CH personnel. Discusses findings with laboratory management and exercises discretion and judgment to develop and implement corrective measures, including recommending new policies and procedures and training programs. Contributes to collection of data and development of reports for POC quality assurance activities. Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements for POC and works with nursing managers and lab leadership to monitor compliance with all POC Laboratory accreditation and regulatory requirements. Monitors and analyzes outcomes, reviews results of proficiency testing, and reviews monthly departmental POC quality assurance reports to assess degree of compliance with POC quality assurance standards. Sensory Requirements include: Very Accurate 20/40, Near Vision, Accurate Far Vision, Color Discrimination, Moderate Depth Perception, Accurate Hearing Anticipated Occupational Exposure Risks Include the following: Bloodborne Pathogens , Chemical , Airborne Communicable Disease Demonstrates proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation. Reviews quality control results with publication of statistical parameters of each unit. Conducts initial orientation and ongoing training and competency for all employees performing POC. <
