Lab Technician Team Lead

Duties: Perform all duties of a Technical Services Specialist. Additionally, support the Technical Services Manager with the following: Lead daily Technical Services operations by assigning, prioritizing, and actively monitoring work across incoming inspections, customer returns, and life testing activities. Serve as the first line of support for lab personnel, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and real-time decision-making to keep work flowing. Balance hands-on lab work (testing, troubleshooting, light repair/rework) with coordination responsibilities to meet throughput and turnaround targets. Ensure all testing, refurbishment, repair, and rework activities are executed in accordance with approved procedures and quality requirements. Review and approve test data, documentation, and system entries for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Monitor lab performance metrics (e.g., throughput, backlog, failure trends) and adjust priorities or resources as needed. Help enforce compliance with ESD controls, safety requirements, cleanliness standards, and overall lab organization. Verify calibration status of equipment and ensure adherence to calibration schedules; remove or quarantine non-compliant equipment. Train, mentor, and support development of lab technicians; ensure consistent adherence to procedures and best practices. Support development, continuous improvement and implementation of lab procedures and work instructions. Ensure all lab operations are conducted in compliance with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 Quality System requirements. ROLES ASSOCIATED WITH JOB DESCRIPTION – ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING COULD APPLY: All product evaluation, testing, refurbishment and repair services associated with the Technical Services Team. Oversees all activities carried out by the Technical Services Team both in the Tech Services Lab and Testing Center. Performs tasks associated with specific projects as defined in the work instructions for that project. Performs duties associated with physically moving and handling product from one pallet or location to another.
