Job Description
Technical Source is seeking a Lab Technician to support early-stage R&D and clinical biomarker programs within a growing Discovery Center of Excellence in Birmingham, AL.This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in biology who enjoys working in a hands-on lab environment while supporting multiple research initiatives.This individual will play a key role in maintaining lab organization, managing inventory, and assisting scientists with routine biological and biochemical assays.The position offers exposure to early discovery work, biologics programs, and biomarker-driven studies.This role will work 25-30 hours/weeks.Options for working hours are as followed:Work 5-6 hour days, Monday - Friday working their core hours from 830am - 5pm, 4 days/week Key Responsibilities Support early research and development programs, including method development and compound testing Assist with pharmacodynamic (PD) biomarker studies, including sample login, tracking, storage, and organization Perform biological and biochemical assays to support compound evaluation and biomarker analysis Support biologics workflows including antibody receipt, aliquoting, storage, and inventory tracking Prepare reagents for routine laboratory activities Maintain organization of compounds, reagents, kits, and general lab supplies Manage laboratory inventory systems and ensure materials are properly tracked and stored Perform preventative maintenance on designated lab equipment Coordinate and manage incoming lab shipments (receipt, verification, and distribution) Maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and documentation, including lab notebooks Provide general lab support to scientists and research staff as needed Qualifications Needed Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related scientific field Prior laboratory experience (academic or industry) preferred Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Effective communication skills (written and verbal) Comfortable performing hands-on lab work and supporting multiple workflows.
