Job Description
The National Association of Government Employees/International Brotherhood of Police Officers (NAGE/IBPO) seeks a dedicated individual to fill an Assistant General Counsel role in our Warwick Rhode Island office. The successful candidate can expect to represent NAGE/IBPO members and state, municipal, police, and public safety unions in various administrative and other forums. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school Admission to the Rhode Island bar Labor and employment experience preferred Experience representing police and public safety employees preferred Responsibilities: As the Assistant General Counsel, you'll play a pivotal role in: Coordinating and representing litigation matters Representing locals and members in arbitration and various state, federal, and municipal administrative forums Occasional on-call availability following critical incidents, including officer-involved shootings Occasional representation of employees or the union in state and federal courts Managing policy matters impacting public workers Why Join Us?
