Laboratory Operations Director

Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Director to join our team supporting multiple hospital partnerships in the Portland, OR region. Work Schedule: Day shift, Monday-Friday Additional hours as needed Travel required between hospital sites Job Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison between laboratory services and hospital executive leadership Partner with hospital leaders to align laboratory operations with organizational goals Participate in executive meetings, hospital committees, and operational reviews Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple hospital laboratories Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, and applicable regulatory standards Manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation across sites Monitor laboratory performance including turnaround times, quality metrics, and productivity Analyze and present data to leadership to support decision-making and operational improvements Lead process improvement initiatives and drive operational efficiencies Support implementation of new technologies, instrumentation, and laboratory systems Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance patient care and service delivery Mentor and develop laboratory managers and staff Ensure all laboratory operations follow company policies and procedures Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology ASCP or equivalent certification 7 years or more of experience in clinical laboratory operations 3 years or more of leadership
