Job Description
Overview I need someone to drive my truck that is leased under Landstar. Landstar is a large company that has high standards and is able to attract important contracts due to its high level of service. I am looking to pay 35% of the revenue which can bring in a good salary. You determine how much you want to make and how long you want to stay out. I need someone who is qualified to work with Landstar Ranger. I prefer someone already qualified by Landstar. Flatbed and stepdeck drivers earn the best. Responsibilities Safely operate tractor-trailers, including manual transmission trucks, across designated routes while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary Manage various types of cargo, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and freight requiring special handling Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance Plan efficient routes for timely deliveries, adjusting for traffic or weather conditions as needed Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and inspection reports in compliance with federal regulations Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and any unforeseen issues Requirements Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Must be able to qualify Proven experience in truck driving, including route driving and delivery operations Proficiency in operating automatic transmission trucks and familiarity with various trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks Experience with freight handling, load & unload procedures, and using equipment like forklifts when applicable Ability to manage long hours on the road while maintaining focus and safety standards Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols for over-the-road trucking Physical ability to perform vehicle inspections and handle freight loading tasks Join us if you're passionate about driving excellence!
