BTSE is an TCIA-Accredited Tree Care Company, with offices in Medford and Newton, Massachusetts.We are a rapidly growing, employee-owned company providing safe and high-quality professional tree care and lawncare grass services throughout Greater Boston.We work with a variety of clients and in spaces from back yards in Newton, Arlington and Cambridge to the Emerald Necklace, Rose Kennedy Greenway and the Boston Public Gardens.We are currently seeking Lawncare Applicators to join our Lawn Care department in our Medford and Newton locations.The successful applicant will be responsible for managing routes, interacting with clients, and applying fertilizer, disease and insect controls to lawns.Applicants must love working outdoors in all types of weather and have a passion for hard work, safety, and attention to detail.Ideal applicant will be self-directed and engaged in the development of this expanding department.The position is year-round (seasonal for Lawn Care season which is March - December, General Tree Care season December - March).The role is overtime eligible with paid holidays and weekends off with opportunities for professional growth.We seek reliable individuals with a strong work ethic to join our team.While we reward experience in arboriculture, we offer extensive training and continuing education for all levels.Prerequisites include:Valid driver's license Must be physically able to perform the daily work demands of the job in accordance with standards set forth by management including but not limited to:ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time, operate machinery, client relations and professional service delivery in person and through other means of communication Must be able to read, write and interpret documents in the English language, e.g., safety rules, material safety data sheets (MSDS), operating repair, installation and procedure instruction manuals Must possess a valid Massachusetts Pesticide Applicators license Pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check which are part of candidate selection process Additional (preferred) Qualifications:1 year relevant experience Associates or Bachelor Degree in Horticulture, Turfgrass Science, Agronomy, or Soil Science Turfgrass Management background preferred Experience with fertilizer spreading/pesticide spraying on a golf course, athletic field or lawns Prior work on a golf course, athletic fields, industrial grounds or landscaping business a plus Salary commensurate with experience starting at $24/hour.Benefits include:Continual career advancement opportunities with professional sponsorship Clothing/boot allowance along with company issued gear Paid time off and paid holidays Paid professional certification and member dues Health, dental and vision insurance along 401(k) plan Enrollment in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) which is a benefit plan that enables employees to become stakeholders in the company Continuing education and professional development including turfgrass seminars related to pesticide license requirements Job Type:Full-time Pay:From $24.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Referral program Retirement plan Vision insurance Application Question(s):Are you willing to commute to either Medford or Newton for full time work?
