Job Summary The Certified Peer Lead provides strengths based peer support to individuals and families by drawing on lived experience, while also supervising and supporting peer staff. This role carries a reduced caseload and provides weekly individual supervision, ensuring staff deliver high quality, responsive services that meet the diverse mental health and cultural needs of youth and families. The Certified Peer Lead oversees documentation and compliance with state, county, and contractual requirements; supports quality assurance, audits, and corrective actions; and represents the YMCA in interdisciplinary and community settings. This position partners closely with program leadership, internal YMCA teams, and external systems such as courts and probation to meet program and community needs, with a flexible schedule to accommodate clients. This position is at the Social Impact Center Y, the social services branch of YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS). The mission of the Social Impact Center Y is to accelerate young people’s ability to build safe, successful, and happy lives. Every year, we serve 5,000 children, youth, young adults, and families across King County with programs that aim to strengthen young people’s ability to develop to their fullest potential through four strategies: reducing risk factors; navigating systems towards successful life transition; ensuring stability, safety and wellness in times of crisis; and building competencies and social capital. The Social Impact Center Y’s programs include housing, behavioral health, foster care licensing, violence prevention, education, and employment. Many of the young people we serve have had involvement in the foster care, criminal justice system, and/or homelessness systems. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5:30pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Supervise the WISe Peer Support Specialists. Provides weekly individual supervision with each assigned supervisee. Complete the supervisor’s peer training course. Be a certified peer registered as an affiliated counselor with the state. Maintain WA State peer and supervision credentials. Monitors staff documentation and individual case records by utilizing the reports in the electronic health record, periodically spot-checking case records from each staff and ensuring timely documentation of services and productivity. Reports all critical incidents and adheres to YMCA program rules and procedures. Represents the YMCA at interdisciplinary community meetings. Ensures all participants served receive high quality and effective services. Ensures urgency, intensity and frequency of services calibrated to the youth and family’s individual cultural background and mental health needs, and that families are bridged to long term community support. Ensure staff interface and effectively work with courts, probation department, and other agencies and professionals, and that they develop successful treatment programs for various types of individuals. Conducts quality assurance (QA) activities so that all services are delivered and documented by WAC and King County contractual requirements and participates in formal QA review process.
