Job Title: Lead, Configuration Management Job Code: 37550 Job Location: Rochester, NY Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off Job Description: A Configuration Manager provides configuration and data management support to their assigned program(s). The Configuration Manager will be responsible for planning, managing, and reporting on the documentation created to fulfill customer configuration and will ensure the consistency, integrity, and accuracy of system documentation, drawings, design artifacts, baselines, and related configuration information throughout the product lifecycle. You will leverage your extensive expertise to provide high-level support and guidance to all departments supporting the program, including Program Management, Engineering, Contracts, Subcontracts, Quality, and other functions, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements, internal standards, and industry best practices. Essential Functions: Experience and professional level skill utilizing Oracle Agile Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), GitLab, Windchill, JIRA, and/or other similar applications. Ability to interact with and support cross-functional meetings with a variety of engineering roles across multiple L3Harris sites. Creating and maintaining configuration baselines supporting developmental, production, and sustainment programs. Coordinating Engineering changes ensuring approval requirements are met and implementation is managed. Ensure rigorous adherence to Contract Statements of Work (SOW), policies, procedures, and technical documentation. Provide strategic oversight to ensure that all documentation and configuration records meet or exceed compliance standards. Implementing data control methodologies preventing process or system issues and ensuring proper standards for quality are maintained. Reviewing and approving/rejecting all formal program documentation, coordinating with contracts organizations and customers regarding new or changing requirements, and integrating with program teams to coordinate deliveries. Ensuring identification, definition, implementation, release and maintenance of data items and Supplier and Contract Data Requirements List (SDRL and CDRL) schedules are in accordance with program requirements. Supervise the organization, review, and authorization of new and revised drawings and documentation. Guarantee that all program documentation complies with internal standards, formatting requirements, and contractual obligations, and that proper document control procedures are applied. Creating Configuration Status Accounting reports for the program. Lead and support functional and physical configuration audits, ensuring thorough preparation and adherence to audit requirements if contractually required. Drive continuous improvement initiatives based on audit findings and industry best practices. Provide high-level functional support to engineering and program management activities, including analyses, consultations, and special topic discussions as needed. Serve as a subject matter expert, offering advanced guidance and advice on HWCM methods, tools, and procedures to project teams. Act as a key liaison between management and other functional groups to address and resolve complex configuration management issues. Direct the Configuration Change Board (CCB) process, including the review, modification, and approval of documents, drawings, and associated records. Ensure clarity, compliance, and completeness in all change-related documentation. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
