Piper companies is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to drive enterprise‑wide data platform strategy and execution. This role will focus on designing, modernizing, and scaling cloud‑based data environments , while partnering closely with business and technical leaders to enable analytics, automation, and innovation. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who is comfortable designing complex data systems while influencing long‑term strategy. Key Responsibilities Define and lead enterprise data architecture and infrastructure strategy Design and support data warehouses, data lakes, and hybrid cloud data platforms Build and oversee Python‑based data pipelines, transformations, and integrations Drive adoption of CI/CD practices for data platforms and analytics workflows Lead implementation and optimization of Microsoft Fabric and related Azure data services Partner with executives, engineering, security, and product teams to align data strategy with business goals Guide cloud resource planning, cost optimization, and governance Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and best‑practice guidance across teams Troubleshoot complex data and cloud infrastructure issues as needed Required Qualifications (Non‑Negotiable) Expert‑level experience with Python for data engineering and automation Strong experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines for data platforms Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric (or equivalent modern cloud data platforms) 7+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or cloud infrastructure Advanced knowledge of SQL, ETL/ELT, and data integration patterns Strong understanding of cloud governance, security, and compliance Compensation: Salary Range: $150,000/annually This is a full-time, hybrid position; 2 days a week is required onsite at either Fort Washington, PA Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, PTO, Paid Sick Leave as required by law This job opens for applications on 04/7/2026 .
