EXAMPLE OF DUTIES KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides work direction to other journey level trades staff and participates in journey-level electrical trade work with other assigned staff engaged in installing, maintaining, modifying, and repairing a variety of electrical systems and equipment related to light, heat, and power at a college.Schedules and oversees the work of journey-level workers and other assigned staff engaged in installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair work on a variety of electrical systems and equipment such as conduits, cogeneration systems, meters, panels, control boards, lights, fans, heaters, fire alarms, bell and buzzer systems, field lighting systems, clock systems, switchgear, and wall, floor, and ceiling receptacles.Determines the most efficient work procedures and techniques for assigned staff to ensure timely completion of electrical projects and makes sure that safety standards and procedures are followed.Installs interior and exterior wiring for equipment and appliances ,bends conduits, cuts, drills, and channels concrete floors and walls for conduits and related installations or repairs.Performs electrical work such as rewiring or replacing lamps on lighting poles at athletic fields, parking lots, and other District facilities.Estimates job costs, prepares material lists and job records, and maintains an inventory of supplies and tools for the assigned area.Provides supervisor with technical input on electrical work concerning planned construction and work ongoing projects.Inputs and edits interior and exterior lighting schedules using the Energy Management System (EMS).Assists in planning and developing modifications and repairs to existing electrical systems; including but not limited to Lighting Controls (EMS) and Fire Life Safety Systems.(Inspects facilities for maintenance and safety issues related to electrical systems and equipment.Full Job Description: Lead Electrician SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION CORE COMPETENCIES: The District has identified the following essential skills and attributes needed for success in this position.Electrical ExpertiseLeadershipProject ManagementSafety ComplianceProblem SolvingCommunication and CoordinationMaintenance and CareTechnical DocumentationSalary RangeCSEA - 56
