Job Description
Summary This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to JBSA Randolph Outdoor Recreation. This is a flexible position with guaranteed 00 hrs./wk. You may be scheduled up to 40 hours per week. Employees appointed to a flexible category position are not eligible for benefits. This position will have a monthly cutoff day where applications will be reviewed for consideration. The monthly cutoff day is the second Wednesday of each month. Starting March 11th, 2026. Responsibilities Leads three or more lifeguards in the performance of lifeguard and related swimming facility duties. Distributes and balances workload in accordance with established directives. Ensures timely accomplishment of work assignments. Maintains awareness of status and progress and makes day-to-day adjustments based on established priorities. Maintains records of work accomplishment as required by program directives/procedures. Instructs lower graded lifeguards in specific tasks, procedures, and techniques, makes available written instructions, material, and supplies. Gives on-the-job training to new employees. Maintains a current knowledge and answers questions of other employees on procedures, policies, and directives, and obtains needed information or decisions from supervisor on problems. Checks on work in progress and reviews completed work to see that supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met. Refers problems or matters not covered by instruction, to supervisor. Reports to supervisor on employee performance, progress, and training needs and on disciplinary problems. Observes the condition and behavior of swimmers to ascertain any potential problems. Fosters good relationships with patrons. Maintains order and enforces established rules of safety and behavior. Rescues and resuscitates individuals in danger of drowning and renders first aid to injuries. Cleans and maintains the swimming facility to include assigned areas (e
