Job Description
Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and experienced Lead Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for the night shift within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this leadership role, you will provide advanced respiratory care to a diverse patient population while serving as a clinical resource and mentor for the night team. You will coordinate and oversee nightly respiratory therapy operations, including staffing assignments, workflow, and adherence to departmental policies and evidence-based protocols. Working collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team, you will perform and supervise assessments, initiate and manage ventilator support, administer therapeutic modalities, and respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and rapid response calls. As the Lead RRT, Nights, you will support Piedmont Healthcare’s culture of respect, innovation, and teamwork by modeling excellent clinical practice, demonstrating sound clinical judgment, and promoting safe, patient-centered care. You will participate in staff education, support orientation of new team members, and help identify opportunities for process improvement and quality initiatives within the respiratory care service line. Accurate documentation, effective communication, and a strong commitment to infection prevention, patient safety, and regulatory compliance are essential. This role offers the opportunity to grow professionally in a non-profit health system that values continuous learning and development. You will have access to ongoing training, specialty education, and career advancement pathways while making a meaningful impact on patients and families across our network of hospitals and healthcare facilities. Candidates should be comfortable working independently on nights, managing complex and critically ill patients, and providing calm, confident leadership in a fast-paced acute care setting.
