Job Description
Overview We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Lead Teachers and Teacher Assistants (floater)to inspire and guide young learners in a vibrant educational environment. This role is integral to fostering a nurturing space where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. As a Lead Teacher, you will develop engaging curricula, implement individualized learning plans, and collaborate with families and colleagues to support each child's unique journey. Your energy and dedication will help create a positive, inclusive classroom that promotes curiosity, confidence, and lifelong love of learning. Responsibilities Design and implement creative lesson plans aligned with developmental milestones, curriculum standards, and individualized education programs (IEPs). Lead classroom activities that promote literacy, math skills, social-emotional development, and behavioral management. Utilize evidence-based teaching strategies including speech therapy techniques, behavioral therapy, and Montessori methods to support diverse learning needs. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and proactive behavior management techniques. Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists, behavioral health professionals, and early intervention teams to tailor support for children with disabilities or developmental delays. Monitor student progress through assessments, standardized testing, and ongoing observations; adjust instruction accordingly. Mentor and supervise assistant teachers or teaching aides to ensure high-quality instructional delivery and classroom management. Maintain detailed records of student development, IEP goals, behavioral reports, and communication logs with families. Foster strong relationships with parents and guardians through regular updates on progress and collaborative goal-setting. Ensure a safe, inclusive environment that respects cultural diversity and promotes equity in learning opportunities. Experience Proven classroom experience working with children in early childhood education settings or special education environments. Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across literacy, math, behavioral health, and social-emotional learning. Experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities, or other special needs. Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring processes. Familiarity with teaching methodologies such as Montessori or preschool education frameworks is preferred. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with families, colleagues, and external specialists. Background in behavioral health or behavior management strategies is highly desirable. Prior experience in private schools or early intervention programs will be considered an asset.
