Position Summary The Lead Teacher / GSRP Co-Teacher is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for preschool children. This position works closely with classroom staff, families, and administration to support children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic growth while following all GSRP guidelines, licensing regulations, and center policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and implement age appropriate lessons and activities that support early childhood development and GSRP standards Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment Supervise children at all times including classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, rest time, and transitions Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff Communicate daily with parents regarding children’s progress, behavior, and classroom activities Complete required child observations, assessments, and documentation on time Work collaboratively with the classroom teaching team and administration Support classroom management and guide children using positive behavior strategies Assist with maintaining classroom schedules and routines Help ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and GSRP requirements Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities Assist with classroom laundry, organization, and general cleaning duties as needed Support other staff members and classrooms when necessary Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Must meet GSRP qualifications and state licensing requirements Previous experience working in an early childhood setting preferred Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced environment CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and actively engage with children throughout the day Skills and Abilities Strong leadership and classroom management skills Dependable, organized, and professional Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team Knowledge of child development and early childhood best practices Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Work Schedule Full time position with hours determined by center needs and classroom schedule.
