Overview This position has a flexible start August /September Atelier de la Casa, a Montessori-inspired daycare and preschool in Greenpoint, Brooklyn , is seeking an experienced and passionate Educational to lead our growing team. We provide independence and curriculum oriented, where children can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. We are curriculum oriented first. why our success, as this is what our parents are looking for, maintaining an educative and creative curriculum is key. 5/6 kids per teacher/guide Atelier is growing very fast. We will double our kids number for the next academic year, we are restructuring and adding to our team, as some of our team will move to lead/admin. We are open to different possibilities for this position. A hybrid lead teacher/director is one of them. You will be leading in the classroom in the morning And after 2 pm you will be in the office. we will train the right candidate to gain director skills. You will begin by being in the classroom in the morning supporting/supervising your team/teachers/leads ( making sure everything is working smoothly, noticing improvements in the environment, material, schedule or teaching ways) and admin in the afternoon. Key Responsibilities: Oversee the daily operations of the daycare/preschool, ensuring compliance with New York State regulations and Montessori principles. Lead, train, and supervise teaching staff, offering guidance on lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management. Foster a positive learning environment that supports children’s growth in a bilingual, Montessori-based setting. Communicate effectively with parents and staff, addressing concerns, updates, and program goals. Educate students using various teaching methods and resources Qualifications: Valid NYS Teaching Certification in one of the following areas: Early Childhood, Birth-2nd Grade, Childhood Education Grades 1-6, Special Education/Students with Disabilities required At least 2 years of experience in early childhood education, with leadership or administrative experience preferred. Bilingual in Spanish or French, or Montessori experience is a plus. Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team, and capacity to manage conflicts or delicate conversations with parents.
