Job Description
Role Overview: Deliver high-quality firearms instruction for students from first-time shooters to advanced practitioners. Create a safe, professional, engaging, and supportive learning environment that builds confidence, improves skill, and guides students through structured training tracks. Build and maintain a reputable program that delivers classroom and live-fire instruction daily through group and private offerings. Develop curriculum for all levels, engage customers to recommend clear next steps, and support training and membership growth through consistent, high-quality outcomes. Core Responsibilities: Firearms Instruction & Student Development Provide professional instruction for new, intermediate, and advanced shooters in both classroom and live-fire settings Create a welcoming, confidence-building environment while maintaining uncompromising safety and professionalism Adapt instruction to each student’s skill level, learning style, comfort level, and goals Place students in the best learning format for their current ability and development path (group, private, clinics, specialty) Deliver engaging training that supports fundamentals, scenario-based learning, and advanced skill development Curriculum & Training Track Development Build structured training tracks (4–6 progressive classes) for shooters at all skill levels Design pathways that progress students from safety and fundamentals to advanced techniques, movement, and scenario-based application Standardize the training experience across private lessons, group classes, member clinics, and specialty courses Continuously evaluate and improve course content using student feedback, safety considerations, and business needs Private Training & Customer Engagement Communicate training options, value, and recommended progression clearly and professionally Build long-term relationships that encourage continued development through classes, private lessons, and memberships Provide purchase guidance based on fit, intended use, and training goals—without brand bias or sales pressure Prioritize the student’s needs and safety over personal preference or convenience Safety & Range Standards Maintain safety as the top priority in the classroom and on the range Enforce all range rules, class rules, and safety protocols consistently and professionally Maintain control of the training environment and coordinate with range staff to run sessions safely and efficiently Ensure students understand safe handling, storage, transport, and use across environments Qualifications: NRA Instructor certifications required Colorado CHP instructor verification highly preferred Experience teaching students across multiple skill levels Experience with defensive handgun, rifle, shotgun, concealed carry, or scenario-based training preferred Competition shooting experience is a plus, but not required Strong understanding of firearm safety, range operations, and live-fire instruction Ability to clearly explain concepts to both brand-new and experienced shooters Strong communication, professionalism, and customer service skills Ability to build trust with students and create a fun, engaging, and productive learning environment Must be patient, approachable, safety-minded, and committed to helping people improve Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour Benefits Employee discount Opportunities for advancement Paid sick time Retirement plan Application Question(s): How much prior firearm instructions experience do you have?
