Job Description
The Opportunity Are you a dynamic leader who knows how to command a room? Summer Springboard is seeking a Workshop Facilitators to lead high-impact, interactive sessions for motivated high school students for our program on the campus of MIT this summer. We are hiring for our Leadership workshop: Introducing foundational leadership through participation-based exercises. Students engage in live simulations to practice real-time decision-making under pressure. This is not a traditional teaching gig. We don't do "sage on a stage" lectures. Instead, you will guide students through a fast-paced, 90-minute experience where they do the thinking, discussing, and deciding. The Curriculum (Zero Lesson Planning) We respect your time. The curriculum, slide decks, and simulation materials are 100% prepared and provided. Your role is to bring the content to life through expert facilitation and real-time coaching. Workshop Highlights Foundational Skills: Moving students from "theoretical" leadership to practical application. Active Participation: Facilitators teach by "cueing and questioning" rather than explaining. Live Simulations: Lead students through pressure-filled scenarios where they must make real-time leadership decisions. Values Discovery: Help students identify their core values and a concrete leadership behavior to practice beyond the program. Who You Are The Facilitator: You have a background in corporate training, executive coaching, higher education, or professional development. The Energy: You know how to keep 15-18 year olds engaged for 90 minutes through high-energy interaction. The Guide: You are comfortable "leading from the back"—allowing students to struggle with decisions before guiding them to the "aha" moment. The Professional: You are reliable and excited to represent Summer Springboard on a prestigious college campus. Schedule & Requirements Availability: Must be available on-site at an assigned space on the campus of MIT from 3:30PM - 5:00PM for the specific dates: June 23, June 25, June 29, June 30, July 7, July 9, July 13, July 14, July 21, July 23, July 27, and July 28 Important Note: It is the same content and workshop on each day above, however, you will have a different group of students Experience: 2+ years of experience in facilitation, public speaking, or student mentorship preferred. Clearance: Must be able to pass a standard background check for working with minors. Pay: $200.00 per day Work Location: In person
