MUST BE LOCAL TO NORTHWEST ARKANSAS We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join our legal team. This role involves preparing legal documents, maintaining case files, communicating with clients, managing deadlines, tracking billable time, and assisting with overall case management. This position offers the opportunity to grow your legal skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Practice areas for the firm are estate planning, probate, and personal injury. Qualifications Proven working experience as legal assistant or legal secretary Strong attention to detail Must be proactive and self-motivated Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and court system College degree will be strongly considered in lieu of experience Strong computer skills and curiosity to learn Strong writing, proofreading, and document formatting Curiosity and willingness to learn case management software Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment High school or equivalent (Required) Responsibilities You will provide a broad spectrum of legal services under the supervision of an attorney. Answer phones and communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence. Work in Client Management Software Review and Organize Medical Records Electronic Filing of Documents with Courts Handle confidential information with discretion Maintain case files Monitor deadlines and Attorney calendars Schedule appointments, hearings, mediations, and court dates.
