Job Description
Family Law Paralegal Moyer Law, PC – Rhode Island Moyer Law, PC is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our growing practice. This is a full-time, in-office position for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates professionally, and can independently manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines. This is not a purely administrative role — the right candidate will play a meaningful part in case management, litigation preparation, financial organization, and client coordination. Responsibilities Manage and maintain active family law caseloads Coordinate with courts, clients, opposing counsel, and third parties Draft pleadings, motions, affidavits, orders, subpoenas, and correspondence Prepare and organize discovery materials and supporting documentation Organize and review financial records and related documents Assist with marital asset and debt summaries, equity calculations, support calculations, and property distribution analysis Prepare hearing and trial materials, including exhibits, witness files, trial binders, and related courtroom preparation Maintain attorney calendars, including court dates, deadlines, hearings, and appointments Handle client communications and provide case updates Manage incoming calls, emails, and office communications File documents with Rhode Island Family Court and related courts Ensure files and case management systems remain organized, current, and deadline compliant Qualifications Prior paralegal or legal assistant experience required; family law experience strongly preferred Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to manage competing deadlines and urgent matters effectively Comfortable working with numbers, financial records, and basic mathematical calculations Ability to understand and assist with asset distributions, equity calculations, child support, and alimony-related financial information Professional demeanor with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-conflict situations Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Comfortable using legal and office technology, including Microsoft Office and case management systems Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters appropriately Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, organized under pressure, and capable of handling sensitive family matters with professionalism and empathy.
