Job Description
Legal Assistant – Litigation Our client, an established national law firm with a strong focus on workforce management, healthcare, and life sciences, is seeking a Legal Assistant to support its litigation team. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-impact matters within a collaborative, team-oriented environment that emphasizes mentorship, professional growth, and cross-office collaboration. The Legal Assistant will provide high-level administrative and litigation support to attorneys, helping ensure efficient case management and exceptional client service. This role requires the ability to balance multiple priorities, maintain strict confidentiality, and produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting. The position follows a hybrid schedule with regular in-office expectations. Key Responsibilities Manage attorney calendars, including scheduling court appearances, depositions, meetings, and travel arrangements Draft, format, and proofread legal documents such as correspondence, memoranda, pleadings, discovery, and agreements Handle e-filing in California state, federal, and appellate courts, ensuring compliance with applicable rules and deadlines Support discovery processes, including preparing discovery shells and coordinating document productions Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files using document management systems Prepare trial and arbitration materials, including exhibits, binders, and witness files Coordinate logistics for depositions, mediations, hearings, and client meetings Enter attorney time and process expense reports and reimbursements Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and internal teams Provide general administrative support, including phone coverage and message handling Qualifications: Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal Strong knowledge of California Rules of Court, Code of Civil Procedure, and local court rules Experience with state and federal e-filing systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal technology tools, including document management and time entry systems Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm known for its innovative, industry-focused approach and strong commitment to professional development.
