Join our dynamic legal team as a Legal Secretary, where your expertise will be vital in supporting complex legal operations across diverse practice areas.This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, providing essential administrative and legal support to attorneys and clients alike.Your proactive approach, organizational skills, and legal knowledge will help streamline case management, document preparation, and research efforts, ensuring our firm delivers exceptional service with efficiency and precision.We are committed to fostering a collaborative atmosphere that values your contributions and encourages professional growth.Manage and organize legal documents using document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal databases to support case development across areas including estate planning, environmental law, immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, and litigation.Draft, proofread, and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, affidavits, and correspondence with meticulous attention to detail.Assist attorneys with case management tasks including data entry, filing (both electronic and physical), scheduling appointments, and maintaining client files.Support attorneys in client interviews by preparing questionnaires and summarizing interview notes to facilitate efficient case analysis.Coordinate with courts and external agencies for document filings and retrievals while adhering to procedural rules.Perform administrative duties such as answering phones with professional etiquette, managing calendars for court dates or meetings, and providing executive administrative support when needed.Extensive knowledge of legal areas including estate planning, environmental law, UCC law (Uniform Commercial Code), immigration law, family law, securities law, tribal regulations, patent law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, landlord-tenant law, litigation procedures, and contract drafting.Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to gather relevant case law and statutory information.Experience with legal case management software like iManage and PCLaw for organizing documents and tracking case progress.Strong project management skills to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines.Excellent writing skills for drafting clear legal documents; proofreading for grammatical accuracy; transcription of dictations or notes when necessary.Demonstrated ability in document review processes ensuring compliance with legal standards.Superior organizational skills with attention to detail in filing systems--both electronic (using document management systems) and physical files.Effective communication skills coupled with professional phone etiquette for liaising with clients, courts, vendors or other stakeholders.Clerical experience including data entry, filing procedures, scheduling meetings or court appearances.Knowledge of legal administrative practices combined with the ability to perform research efficiently within a busy law office environment.This position is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals eager to develop their career within a reputable firm dedicated to excellence in legal support services.We welcome applicants who are detail-oriented team players ready to contribute their skills toward impactful legal work!
