Small sized local IT firm seeks a hard-working professional to join our fun, dynamic staff. Our team of network engineers, repair techs, and office staff have been servicing businesses, medical practices, and the general public for over 20 years. We are seeking a tier 2 service technician - this is not a beginner position, nor is it a bench tech position (although there will be plenty of that, so experience with desktop support is required). The ideal candidate will be comfortable working by themselves, with clients, and as a team. We also require you be able to lift 50lbs due to inventory. This is a real full-time position, not a temp job or contract. For the right candidate, there will be eventual opportunities to advance in the company. Overtime is occasionally required and sometimes available on a volunteer basis. Occasional evening and / or weekend shifts are required as workload demands dictate. After an initial probationary period, employees will be eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance, and PTO benefits, as well as participation in our SPF-IRA program. A college degree in CIS, MIS, BIS, CS, etc. would be preferred, but candidates with equivalent experience and excellent writing skills may also be considered. Routine duties will include, but are not limited to: Helping commercial & residential clients via remote support sessions and onsite service calls Conducting and/or assisting with systems & network deployments and migrations Carrying out scheduled monthly maintenance Repairing desktop & laptop machines and building new systems Assisting with structured wiring projects and light A/V setup Handling client inventory as well as shipping it out (testing/ set-up) As a smaller company, sometimes there is some overlap in roles. Ideal candidates will possess the following: A good knowledge of residential and commercial networks At least 3 yrs. experience working in the IT services or resident helpdesk field Strong understanding of TCP/IP & DNS Experience with Cisco, Netgear, Ubiquiti, Sonicwall, etc. network appliances Command of Windows Server, Windows Pro, and Mac OS Knowledge of both client-style and gateway-style VPN setups Proficiency in Office 365, Google Apps, and rudimentary mail systems Experience with medical and dental practice management/imaging software and equipment Knowledge with structured cabling and power tools Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and other virtualized environments, as well as Azure & AWS Fundamentals A hard working, can-do attitude Willingness to learn new things, and the ability to learn new concepts quickly Excellent customer service skills A professional appearance and demeanor The ability to multitask and do well under pressure Excellent writing & communication skills Long story short, we are seeking someone intelligent, well-spoken, fun, and ambitious who loves to work hard and be busy.
