What You'll Do:o Works under general supervision & requires some knowledge of library services & procedures in order to provide library services o Provides reference, research & reader services (e.g., assists in using library resources & enforces library policies) o Charges materials at circulation desk o Shelves books to maintain order o Maintains running inventory of all library materials o Assists in maintaining monitor housekeeping or Library, Maintain Law Library o Selects, orders, classifies & catalogs all books & library materials o Prepares orders & requests for purchase o Assists in receiving & checking all acquisitions of materials & equipment o Processes & catalogs library materials o Types library reports & catalogs cards o Visits special population units with requested materials o Secures inter-library loan books & materials for inmates & employees o Establishes & maintains varied selection of materials to meet needs of both inmates & employees o Instructs individual or groups in proper use of library facilities o Assists in planning of library services o Performs necessary tasks to keep library in compliance with library policies & audit standards o Prepares budget requests for library services o Records expenditures & prepares reports o Selects, classifies, & catalogues books, magazines, newspapers & library services materials o Reviews printed & non-printed library materials & recommends acquisition of new &/or updated materials, supplies, &/or equipment o Screens materials to ensure appropriate to needs & interests of inmates o Performs other librarian &/or related duties o Performs clerical tasks (e.g., typing, correspondence completion, file updates) o Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, & training Why Work for the State of Ohio At the State of Ohio, we take care of the team that cares for Ohioans.We provide a variety of quality, competitive benefits to eligible full-time and part-time employees .For a list of all the State of Ohio Benefits, visit our Total Rewards website!
