Company Description Central State Hospital is a 112-bed, state-operated facility providing 24-hour care for adults facing acute behavioral health challenges. The hospital specializes in treatment that requires around-the-clock clinical supervision, observation, and assessment. Situated in Louisville, Kentucky, the facility focuses on providing compassionate and comprehensive care to its patients, ensuring their safety and well-being. Role Description This is an on-site, part-time position for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) at Central State Hospital, based in Louisville, KY. The LPN will be responsible for providing hands-on patient care, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and maintaining accurate medical records. The role involves working closely with a multidisciplinary team to support the mental and physical health of patients. Additional responsibilities include assisting with treatment plans, supporting therapeutic activities, and responding to patient needs as they arise. Qualifications Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification and current licensure in the state of Kentucky Experience in patient care, medication administration, and documentation Knowledge of behavioral health conditions and treatments Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills Basic proficiency in medical charting and technology Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations and maintain a calm demeanor CPR certification and knowledge of patient safety protocols Previous experience in a behavioral health or hospital setting is a plus
