Position Summary Responsible for the embalming, preparation, and preservation of decedents for funeral services, burial, or cremation.This role ensures proper sanitation, presentation, and compliance with legal and professional standards, delivering high-quality service in accordance with family wishes.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Embalm, prepare, restore, dress, and cosmetize decedents as required.Verify decedent identification and evaluate condition on an ongoing basis.Ensure all embalming authorizations and required documentation are complete and accurate.Comply with all health, sanitation, safety, and licensing regulations at the municipal, state and federal levels.Maintain detailed and accurate records of procedures, findings, removals, transports, and transfers.Follow universal precautions and company safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials and spills.Clean and maintain preparation rooms, equipment, and workspaces. Responsible for keeping the chemical and supply inventory updated, including receiving caskets and funeral home supplies.Participate in staff meetings and required training.Maintain accurate timekeeping records and adhere to company policies.Perform additional duties as assigned by management.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Comprehensive knowledge of embalming practices and decedent care.Understanding of human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, and biology.Awareness of cultural and religious practices related to death and preparation.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Requirements and Qualifications Associate degree from an accredited mortuary college or equivalent as required by state or provincial law.Completion of a one- to three-year apprenticeship.Minimum of three (3) years of embalming experience.Current and active embalmer's license.Job Type:Full-time Pay:$28.00 - $32.00 per hour Benefits:401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance People with a criminal record are encouraged to apply Experience:Embalming:3 years (Required) Language:Spanish (Preferred) License/Certification:Embalming License (Required) Ability to Commute:East Los Angeles, CA (Required) Work Location:In person.
