Licensed Plumber As a Licensed Plumber, you will perform advanced-level plumbing work, as assigned by Plant Engineering Services leadership, to maintain and extend the service life of hospital assets. Your work directly supports safe, reliable operations in a healthcare environment where patients, families, and clinical teams depend on fully functioning systems every day. Non-contracted, in-house work be part of the hospital team, not a rotating job site A place to retire long-term stability with a respected healthcare organization Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans Paid time off and holiday pay Predictable work environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork The opportunity to support mission-driven work that impacts patient care and safety Perform advanced commercial plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair work Maintain plumbing, mechanical, utility, and building systems in a safe, operational condition Install, repair, and maintain medical gas systems, including medical air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrogen, compressed air, and nitrous oxide Troubleshoot plumbing and mechanical issues using testing equipment and analytical problem-solving Support and maintain RO systems and rehab pool systems Install and repair various commercial kitchen equipment Evaluate plumbing systems for performance, efficiency, and improvement opportunities Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics Ensure compliance with life safety, plumbing, and building codes Collaborate with Plant Engineering leadership and healthcare teams to support hospital operations High school diploma, required One (1) year of vocational or technical school, required City or county Journeyman's Card and/or State Plumber's License, required Valid North Carolina Driver's License (NCDL), required Five (5)+ years of experience in commercial plumbing installation and maintenance, required Strong working knowledge of plumbing, building, and life safety codes Advanced ability to troubleshoot and repair plumbing and mechanical systems using testing equipment Demonstrated experience with medical gas systems, including medical air, oxygen, vacuum, nitrogen, compressed air, and nitrous oxide Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics Experience installing and repairing commercial kitchen equipment Ability to assess plumbing systems for performance, reliability, and efficiency improvements Healthcare facility experience, strongly preferred Experience with RO systems and rehab pools, required Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems Basic computer skills and experience using PC-based programs Ability to recognize and respond to changes in equipment and system sounds At Novant Health, we believe remarkable care starts with compassion for our patients, our communities, and each other.
