Stamford Central School District is hiring for immediate opening: Licensed Teaching Assistant or Teacher Aide open to obtaining NYS certification. Position available for immediate hire. Deadline: Until filled A Licensed Teaching Assistant (LTA) supports classroom instruction under the supervision of a certified teacher, helping to create a positive and effective learning environment for students. Responsibilities include assisting with lesson implementation, providing individualized or small-group instruction, reinforcing learning concepts, and helping students stay engaged with classroom activities. The LTA may work with students who require additional academic support, including those with special education needs, following individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed by the teacher. Duties also include monitoring student behavior, assisting with classroom management, preparing instructional materials, and maintaining a safe and organized learning space. Licensed Teaching Assistants may help administer assessments, record student progress, and communicate observations to the teacher. They may also supervise students during non-instructional times such as lunch, recess, or transitions. The ideal candidate is patient, supportive, and able to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and students to promote academic success and positive student development.
