Job Description
Catskill Veterinary Services is actively seeking Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVTs) who are looking for more than a routine role. We are looking for individuals who want to practice at a high level, expand their clinical skill set, and be part of building something exceptional. Our Rock Hill location serves as the clinical hub of our growing multi-hospital network. As we continue to expand, we are developing a 15,000 square foot state-of-the-art veterinary medical center scheduled to open in Fall 2026. This new facility is being designed to support advanced diagnostics, surgery, and critical care, and will significantly elevate the level of medicine we provide. This is an opportunity to join a hospital where your skills are fully utilized, respected, and continuously developed. The Role: In this position, you will work closely with our doctors and clinical team to deliver high-level patient care across a wide range of cases. Your responsibilities will include the induction, monitoring, and recovery of anesthesia for both routine and advanced procedures. You will perform dental cleanings and full-mouth digital radiography, place intravenous catheters, perform venipuncture, and manage fluid therapy and CRIs. You will play an active role in surgical preparation and intra-operative support, including assisting with nerve blocks, and will be involved in the care and management of hospitalized and ICU patients. This role also includes performing technician appointments, collecting and processing diagnostic samples, and communicating directly with clients regarding patient care, discharges, and education. You will have hands-on exposure to advanced diagnostics, including CT and ultrasound, and will be expected to function as an integral part of a collaborative and fast-paced clinical environment. What We Are Looking For: We are seeking an individual who holds an active New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential and has a strong technical foundation in anesthesia, dentistry, and patient care. The ideal candidate is motivated to continue learning, is comfortable working in a fast-paced setting, and takes ownership of patient care and outcomes. Strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively within a team, and a compassionate, patient-focused approach are essential. Experience with exotics, equine, or farm animals is a plus, but not required. Our Facility: Our Rock Hill hospital is a fully digital practice utilizing EzyVet for both medical records and treatment sheets. The facility includes dedicated surgical and dental suites equipped with advanced imaging, a comprehensive in-house IDEXX laboratory, digital radiology, and multiple ultrasound units. We also utilize an HDVI CT scanner, allowing for advanced diagnostic capabilities within the hospital. Looking Ahead: As part of our continued growth, we are building a new 15,000 square foot advanced veterinary hospital. This facility will include a dedicated ICU, a trauma and triage suite, multiple operating rooms, and expanded imaging and specialty services. Joining our team now offers the unique opportunity to be part of both our current operations and the development of this next phase. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive hourly rate based on experience and technical ability. Benefits include health insurance (Employer Contributions), a 401(k) plan with employer match, paid time off and sick leave, and holiday pay following the probationary period. We also provide employee pet care discounts and continuing education support, as we are committed to investing in the growth and development of our team. Schedule: Our hospital is open seven days a week and provides both general practice and urgent care services. We offer flexible scheduling options, including both full-time and part-time opportunities. Why Catskill Veterinary Services Catskill Veterinary Services is a growing and evolving medical organization focused on advancing the level of care we provide while supporting the development of our team.
