Position Summary The Licensing Specialist is a regulatory position responsible for assisting in developing, maintaining, and tracking all records and support documentation pertaining to gaming applicants and vendors subject to the licensing process as defined by the Tribal Gaming Commission and applicable Federal Law.This job description is not an all-inclusive list of the duties and responsibilities of this position.The Licensing Specialist is expected to perform all duties and responsibilities necessary to meet the goals and objectives of applicable programs.This position is responsible to and subject to the CIN Personnel Policies and Procedures Manual.Essential Functions An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:Greet and communicate with vendors and employees of the Gaming Operation, ensuring a professional and timely response to questions or correspondence.Review completed applications, checking for inconsistencies, errors, omissions, falsifications, and minimum requirements to ensure accuracy and completion before beginning initial candidate interviews.Provide guidance to vendors and employees seeking licensure or questioning the process to complete the Catawba licensing process.Provide technical assistance to users of the licensing systems as needed such as resetting passwords, status change forms, completing applications, or other.Accurately enter and interpret data from applications, Two Kings point of contacts, and the Licensing Director.Identify confidential information and follow procedures for safeguarding such information.Assist in ensuring invoices for vendors and employees are accurate.Complete reviews and audits of the licensing department information ensuring records are accurate and up to date.Obtain, enter, and maintain pertinent documents, information, and statistical data into the licensing software system for both vendors and gaming employees as directed.Complete annual CJIS training.Processing vendor and employee license renewals as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.This position description is not an exhaustive listing of the expectations associated with the role and additional tasks may be assigned as needed by management.Changes to this document may only be made by a member of the Human Resources team.Catawba Indian Nation reserves the right to amend this job description.Catawba Indian Nation exercises INDIAN PREFERENCE:Tribal Government Positions Native American (Indian) preference applies to this position pursuant to the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act, 25 U.S.C. 5301 et seq.; the Indian Reorganization Act, 25 U.S.C. 5116; and other applicable federal and tribal laws, consistent with the sovereign authority of the Catawba Indian Nation.Gaming Commission Positions Native American (Indian) preference applies to this position pursuant to the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act, 25 U.S.C. 2701 et seq.; applicable regulations of the National Indian Gaming Commission at 25 CFR Chapter III; the Indian Reorganization Act, 25 U.S.C. 5116; and other applicable federal and tribal laws, consistent with the sovereign authority of the Catawba Indian Nation.Background checks and drug screening are requirements for employment.Qualifications Experience & Education:This position requires the following to meet the requirements of this position:Accredited High-school diploma or GED required.One (1) year verifiable employment experience in a confidential office/clerical setting is preferred.Skilled in the operation of standard office machinery such as calculator, copier, fax, and other similar equipment.Demonstrated working knowledge of computers with the ability to work in a Windows environment with various software programs such as Word, Excel, etc.Licenses & Certifications:Proficiency in word, excel, outlook, PowerPoint, and other Microsoft applications.Must be willing to obtain a notary if requested.Must undergo a Criminal Background Investigation meeting minimal applicable requirement.Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Tribal Gaming License as required by the Catawba Nation Gaming Commission.Must possess a valid state driver's license.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must demonstrate excellent proficiency in communication and social skills.Demonstrated proficiency in grammar, spelling, punctuation, and writing composition.Must be well organized and detail oriented.Able to work well independently.Must be willing to gain a strong understanding of CJIS requirements.Must travel and participate in training as recommended to meet goals/objectives of applicable programs.Work Environment & Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; bend so as to open/use lower drawers or cabinetry; to talk, hear, and see.The employee is frequently required to sit.The employee is
