Behavioral Assessment Link POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains safe swimming conditions in the pool, deck and surrounding areas. Creates a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with YMCA policies and procedures. Serves as head lifeguard/shift supervisor as assigned by the Aquatics Director. Provides supervision of staff when management is not in the facility. Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool and aquatic area and helps mentor lifeguard in rule enforcement and swim test administration. The position is identified as safety sensitive and subjected to required, random drug testing as scheduled. Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed. Checks the pool for hazardous conditions when arriving and throughout the shift, responds and corrects hazards when able or reports immediately to supervisor. Performs pool chemical testing at appropriate times of the day, as required, and takes appropriate action as needed to correct inconsistencies. Maintains accurate reco
