LIFEGUARD Reports To:Director of Aquatics/Head Guard Department:Pool Status Type:part-time, Hourly Salary:$16.00 - $18.00 POSITION Overview:The Lifeguard at Mission Hills Country Club is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all members and guests using the pool facilities.This role requires vigilance, excellent communication, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all members and guests.KEY Responsibilities:Safety Monitoring: Actively supervise the pool area to ensure the safety of all swimmers. Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, including water rescues andfirst aid situations.Rule Enforcement: Enforce pool rules and club policies to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment. Educate members and guests on proper pool usage and safety protocols.Facility Maintenance: Perform routine inspections of pool equipment and facilities, reporting any issues to management. Maintain cleanliness of the pool area, including deck, chairs, and locker rooms.Customer Service: Provide a friendly and professional presence for members and guests. Assist with pool-related inquiries and requests.Team Collaboration: Work closely with other lifeguards, pool staff, and management to ensure smooth operations. Participate in staff training and meetings as required.EDUCATION & Qualifications:Education and Experience Minimum Age:15 Current Lifeguard Certification (Red Cross or equivalent). CPR/AED Certification (Red Cross or equivalent). Previous lifeguard experience preferred but not required. Experience in customer service or hospitality is ideal but not required.COMPETENCIES: Strong swimming ability. Excellent observation and decision-making skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Professional and friendly demeanor. Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies effectively. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
