As a Line Technician A (or Apprentice), you'll join a safety-focused team responsible for all phases of electric line construction, operation, maintenance, and service work. A current Line Technician A is preferred; however, candidates may be hired as a Ground Technician with the opportunity - and expectation - to complete the Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives Ohio Line Worker Training (COLT) program. Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Journeyman Line Technician program completion or willingness to complete required training through COLT. Technical & Safety Skills: Good working knowledge of electricity fundamentals, circuit connections, line voltages, phasing and transformer connections, switching devices, transmission and distribution standards, and electrical safety (or ability to obtain). Ability to interpret field prints and switching diagrams. Ability to work aloft on poles, towers, and structures while climbing or working from bucket truck.
